Narnia

is my favorite place (not) on earth.  I finished The Last Battle, the last one in the series, tonight, and it was so good.  I loved them as a kid, and they are even more meaningful now.

The last several chapters deal with the end of Narnia as visitors and natives have known it and the entrance of the great kings and queens into the new Narnia.  The difference between the old and the new is not form so much as depth.  It relates closely to Lewis’ ideas about how as we grow in relationship with God, we become more of who we really are, as well as his ideas about heaven and it being what we really long for, whether or not we know how to express it.

I love Narnia.  Lewis was brilliant.  I can’t wait to meet him in heaven.
