Seems to be a common theme these days. In the book I’m (still) reading, The Jesus Way, I’m in the chapter on The Holy with a focus on Isaiah’s experience in Isaiah 6. Peterson says that the only way to experience the mystery of The Holy is to enter into it. It is not something to be manipulated or used for personal desires; it is a mystery that will, necessarily, change us.
Then, this morning during the teaching, mention was made of the great mystery that we enter into when we enter fellowship with God through salvation. Again, the only way to experience it and learn about it is to enter into it. We are simultaneously found out of the lostness of sin and lost in the greatness of the mystery of relationship with God.
What joy there is in the mystery.
